    Introduction of the new product labeling

    For more than 150 years, Optibelt has stood for proven product quality and durability. Now we are breaking new ground with the new labeling for our belt range. In the coming years, we will successively convert the various product groups to the new labeling so that we can show you not only the proven quality, but also a lot of interesting and important additional information directly on the product.

    Which products are being converted?

    We will successively convert all products for which product labeling is possible:

    • optibelt RED POWER 3
    • optibelt BLUE POWER
    • optibelt BLUE POWER 2
    • optibelt SK
    • optibelt VB
    • optibelt SUPER TX
    • optibelt SUPER XE-POWER PRO
    • optibelt DK

    By when will the adjustment take place?

    The production sequence begins with the production of the wrapped belts. This is followed by the production of open-sided belts. The plans for the production of ribbed belts and timing belts have not yet been finalized and are still ongoing.

    Will there be parallel labeling of identical items?

    Yes, during the conversion of production it can happen that old and newly labeled products are temporarily in circulation at the same time. However, nothing changes in the product quality, so all straps are compatible with each other.

    What are the functions of the barcodes?

    • The first barcode is the widely used EAN code . This corresponds to a 13-digit sequence of numbers (also known as GTIN). This clearly defines a product worldwide and must not exist twice in retail (standardized procedure). In order to avoid confusion with the second code on the belt, we indicate both codes in advance. After a start of production without problems, we will check to what extent a visual adjustment of the printout or an addition to the existing belt designation (from "EAN" to GRAPHIC") is possible and also necessary.
    • The second barcode is the trace code , which enables us to trace the respective production steps internally. The sequence of digits in the code itself comes from the respective production paper from production and, if batch tracing is required, provides more details on the materials once used, etc.

    Which profiles will appear in the new design?

    At the start, the roll-out was initiated with the optibelt RED POWER 3 in the SPB narrow v-belt profile. All other profiles will be successively converted. The optibelt SK and the optibelt VB are also currently being produced as v-belts in the new design.

    Which length ranges are affected by this adjustment?

    The adjustment affects all length ranges. Only exceptions regarding the profile are known.

    Are there exceptions? If yes, which?

    Yes, there will still be exceptions:

    • With small VB profiles (e.g. 5, 6), the necessary details (e.g. QR code or barcode) cannot be displayed legibly due to the small belt width.
    • PBL customers and other original equipment manufacturers will continue to be marked and circulated in their usual style for the time being.
    • If expressly desired, the changeover to "capable" profiles and special constructions can also be checked.
