Description
Maximum smooth running at high speeds
optibelt RBS ribbed belt pulleys, also known as V-ribbed pulleys, Poly-V pulleys, or V-ribbed belt pulleys, are the drive and driven pulleys for V-ribbed belts, often also known as ribbed belts or Poly-V belts. They ensure precise belt guidance, even at high speeds and in confined spaces.
Efficient power transmission in smallest spaces
V-ribbed drives are used when high belt speeds are required, back tension rollers are used, very small pulley diameters are available, or particularly high transmission ratios are to be achieved. Especially in smaller drives and high speeds, the frictional connection within the compact design enables quiet and low-vibration power transmission.
Perfect interaction between belt and pulley
The V-ribbed belt consists of a combination of longitudinal ribs that engage positively in the corresponding grooves of the V-ribbed pulley. Therefore, the profile of the pulley must match the profile of the belt exactly.
The PJ and PL profiles are most commonly found in industrial applications and are available in our standard pulley range with 8, 12, or 16 grooves. They are ideal for V-ribbed belts with the corresponding number of ribs. However, after prior testing, it is also possible to use belts with fewer ribs than grooves in the pulley. Depending on the application, this may even be recommended.
